My name is Stainley Bakolo, and I am currently the Infrastructure Development for Blantyre Water Board (BWB). My roles at Blantyre Water Board include: Organizing programs that lead to the identification, assessment and monitoring of BWB major projects including both ground and surface water sources, Coordinating teams in conducting infrastructure development and water supply feasibility studies through surveys, data gathering, analysis and production of related reports, Preparing Tender Documents, Project Quality Specifications and assisting in reviewing and evaluating Bids from Contractors/Consultants. Organising capacity building programme for all staff involved in the projects formulation and implementation in the Board. I am an expert in the following strategic areas: Risk assessment and analysis ,Project and programme management, Advanced Project Management, Value Management in construction, Articulation of project requirements, Contract Management, Construction procurement ,Stakeholder analysis and Management, Cost estimation and cash flow monitoring, Ways of acquiring funding for projects , Strategic Management in construction interalia.

Blantyre Water Board is a state owned parastatal established in 1929 whose mandate as reconstituted in the Waterworks Act No.17 of 1995 is to supply potable water to the City of Blantyre and its surrounding peri-urban areas for commercial, industrial, domestic and firefighting use in a sustainable manner in accordance with the enabling legislations and its strategic plans. Currently the Board, in addition to serving the City of Blantyre, supplies parts of Blantyre, Thyolo and Chiradzulu Districts making 82,000 hectares the total area of coverage through 70,000 metered connections.
