Angola, Botswana, Comoros, Lesotho, Madagascar, Malawi, Mauritius, Mozambique, Namibia, Seychelles, South Africa, ESwatini, Zambia and Zimbabwe. His role and responsibility as India Exim Bank’s Resident Representative for SADC region includes:- (a) Establishing, maintaining, and upgrading relationship with multilateral agencies, Indian diplomatic missions, line of credit recipient governments and financial institutions in the Southern African Development Community (SADC) region. (b) Monitoring the progress of the projects being set up under Bank’s line of credit to countries in Southern Africa. (c) Ensure effectiveness in contributing to the Bank’s capacity to increase loan assets, raising foreign currency resources, income etc. (d) Identify competitive export credit practices.

Export-Import Bank of India (India Exim Bank) was set up in 1982 by an Act of Parliament for financing, facilitating and promoting India’s foreign trade. It is the principal financial institution in the country for coordinating the working of institutions engaged in financing exports and imports. India Exim Bank is fully owned by the Government of India. The Bank provides financial as well as value-added services to Indian exporters. Assistance is given to export-oriented units (EOUs) by way of term loans in Indian rupees or foreign currencies for setting up new production facilities, expansion/modernization or upgradation of existing facilities and for acquisition of production equipment or technology. The Bank lays special emphasis on extension of Lines of Credit to overseas entities, national governments, regional financial institutions and commercial banks.
